American Music Awards Has Lots of Great Performances In Store!!!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, when it comes to most awards shows the awards are virtually meaningless. Apologies for being so harsh, but it’s the truth! The American Music Awards are no exception. I mean does anybody care who comes home with a trophy?

That’s not to say that the AMA’s aren’t worth watching. This year’s show, which will air on ABC Sunday November 24, has a particularly strong and diverse lineup of performers that I for one will definitely be tuning in to watch. I’m talking Jennifer Lopez, Kendrick Lamar, Flordia Georgia Line (!) Luke Bryan (!!!), Lady Gaga, show opener Katy Perry, and, uh, Miley Cyrus.

I didn’t say all the performers were great.

The most interesting performance might just come courtesy of ’90s R&B superstars TLC who will be joined by a special surprise guess. Will it be a Left Eye hologram? Recent collaborator Drake? Guess we’ll have to tune in to find out.

Another reason to watch the show is host Pitbull. Yes, you read that correctly. Pitbull will be hosting the AMAs. While Pitbull seems like an odd choice for a host, we could be in for some unintentional hilarity.

I’m definitely looking forward to this year’s AMAs but in the future, how about we just trim the fat and cut out the awards portion of the show? The more performances, the merrier!
