Eminem & Rihanna Unleash ‘The Monster’

Eminem has a bunch of dope collaborations planned for The Marshall Mathers 2 LP, but personally, I’ve been most excited for his joint with my girl Rihanna. Thankfully, I don’t have to wait any longer to hear how it came out because their song “The Monster” was just released! This is definitely great timing considering Halloween is only a few days away and Chris Brown was just arrested.

Sorry, couldn’t resist.

“The Monster,” of course, is Eminem’s second collaboration with Rihanna, the first being the 2010 smash “Love The Way You Lie” which has racked up over a half BILLION views on YouTube!

Eminem, never a stranger to writing candid lyrics, explores the double edged sword of fame on “The Monster” and manages to reference one of the most underrated rappers of all time, Kool Keith! Rihanna does a great job with the hook, singing, “I’m friends with the monster that’s under my bed/Get along with the voices inside my head/You’re trying to save me, don’t hold your breath/And you think I’m crazy, yeah, you think I’m crazy.” Spooky!

While Em and Rihanna don’t quite capture the magic from the first time around, “The Monster” will no doubt be on my playlist for the foreseeable future.
