Trick or Treat: 5 Halloween Songs that Aren’t ‘The Monster Mash’!!!

With Halloween only a few days away, the MyMusic staff decided to select their favorite spooky songs. Warning: some of these videos are not for the faint of heart!

Scene’s Pick: “This Is Halloween” from A Nightmare Before Christmas

Well of course I was going to pick something from A Nightmare Before Christmas! It’s not only the best Halloween and best Christmas movie of all time, it’s probably the best any time movie of all time!!!

Nerdcore’s Pick: “Zombie Delight” by Buck 65

I decided to go with a zombie song because I sure as hell wasn’t picking something about ghosts! I’ve been a fan of Buck 65 since back in the day, but when he decided to rap about a zombie apocalypse my respect for him rose higher than those zombies climbing up the walls in World War Z.

Techno & Dubstep’s Ppick: “Kill Everybody” by Skrillex

The only thing that could make “Kill Everybody” even more creepily PLUR is a super scary movie mashup movie to go with it. Take our advice and do not watch this alone in the dark!!!

Indie’s Pick: “Do They Know It’s Hallowe’en” by Various Artists

We all know that Halloween music is terrible. So back in 2006 when Jenny Lewis and a bunch of other people I have wonderful dreams about, and unfortunately some people that give me nightmares (I’m looking at you Stevo from Sum 41) decided to collaborate on a Halloween song, it immediately got my seal of approval.

Metal’s Pick: “Fear of the Dark” by Iron Maiden

Do I even have to explain myself? The song is called “Fear of the Dark”! And it’s by Maiden!!! Just listen to it and remember to wear a diaper because it will scare the crap out of you!
