Mark your calendars, set your DVRs, do whatever you need to do so you don’t forget that the latest (and hopefully greatest) season of “American Idol” will begin January 15!
Yessir, FOX finally announced the premiere date of season 13 today and boy am I excited as a pig getting a mud bath. I, for one, have faith that dreamboat crooner and rookie “AI” judge Harry Connick Jr. can help restore the show to its former glory when future superstars Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCreery reigned supreme.
Thankfully, Keith Urban will be back in the judges chair along with Jennifer Lopez, who’s set to return after a one year absence. I’m not the biggest fan of J. Lo, but after experiencing the train wreck last year that was Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, I’m totally cool having Jenny back on the block. Even though my dawg Randy Jackson won’t be judging this year, he’ll be sticking around as an in-house mentor, replacing Jimmy Iovine. Love you, Randy!
With the disappointment that is the current season of “The Voice,” “American Idol” can’t return soon enough! Sorry, Carson Daly, but you will never be Ryan Seacrest. Never!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to call my identical cousin Idol so we can scream about this exciting news!!!!
