Finally: Outkast Reunion Is For Real!!!

I hope you don’t already have plans for the weekends of April 11-13 and April 18-20 because OutKast were just named as one of the headliners for Coachella 2014 in Indio, CA.

Personally, I’m really excited for this reunion. I’ve always been a fan of OutKast’s music. Not to mention, up until recently, I’ve always felt like an outcast, myself.  It’s hard not to support a group that features cover art like this:

While Andre 3000 and Big Boi have been keeping busy with solo work since the last official OutKast release, 2006’s Idlewild Soundtrack, nothing has really felt quite the same with the two of them apart. Big Boi released Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, his long-delayed solo album back in 2010 to little fanfare while Andre guested on a handful of other people’s tracks and starred as Jimi Hendrix in the yet-to-be-released biopic All Is By My Side.

2014 seems like the appropriate year for an OutKast reunion as it marks the group’s 20th anniversary. This will also be Outkast’s first appearance at Coachella. Personally, I’ve never been to the festival but it looks like the party gets pretty crazy!

A pre-sale for Coachella 2014 already ended but more tickets will become available early next year. Expect them to go fast!
