Kanye, Drake Cancel Shows at Last Minute

Not one but two hip hop icons were forced to cancel shows this weekend. That’s right, my boy Drake bailed on his concert at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Saturday while Yeezus himself, Kanye West, cancelled his performance in Vancouver on Sunday.

While Kanye decided to cancel his show several hours before the performance, Drake waited until one hour AFTER his concert was supposed to begin to inform a packed arena he was pulling the plug.

A spokesperson for the Wells Fargo Center told concertgoers in a statement, “Due to the elaborate nature of tonight’s show and an unexpected mechanical issue, Drake’s ‘Would You Like a Tour’ concert at the Wells Fargo Center has been postponed until Wednesday, December 18.”

This, of course, comes after Drake’s beef with Future, who was fired as Drake’s opening act but eventually rehired.

Kanye’s camp is claiming that he had to cancel his show at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena because of a stolen equipment truck. However, some people are speculating that the cancellation came as the result of an unspecified incident involving a certain baby mama.

Kanye kicked off his Yeezus tour the night before in Seattle, where he made fans wait two hours after the scheduled start time to begin the show. Many who attended said it was worth the wait, as they were treated to a two-hour plus performance featuring a giant mountain, assorted creepy masks, and a special appearance from Jesus. Seriously.

Lord knows if there will be anymore issues with Kanye and Drake’s tours but my money is on mos def.
