Screening of Ol’ Dirty Bastard Doc a Disaster!

Fans who gathered in Brooklyn this weekend to catch the premiere of a documenary on Ol’ Dirty Bastard were more inclined to throw up a middle finger than the Wu-Tang Clan W after Dirty’s estate forced the shut down of the screening.

The documentary, titled ODB Dirty: Platinum Edition, follows the career of the late great member of the Wu, who was recently resurrected in hologram form during Wu Tang’s performances at Rock the Bells.

After a two and hour delay, the organizers of the event announced that ODB’s estate had sent out a cease and desist order that would prevent them from screening the film. It’s unclear what prompted this, especially since the film was directed by ODB’s cousin and several of Dirty’s family members were in attendance. Not to mention, the event was schedule during ODB’s birthday.

All in all it’s not surprising that even in death, craziness surrounds something having to do with Ol’ Dirty Bastard!

There is some good news to come out of the non-screening. RZA made an appearance at the event via Skype and announced that a new Wu-Tang Clan album is in the works. Unfortunately, according to RZA, Raekwon is holding up the project. Guess he’s too busy cooking.

RIP ODB!
