‘The Voice’ Crowns a New Champion!

A big congrats to Jamaica native Tessanne Chin who beat out Jacquie Lee and Will Champlin to take home “The Voice” crown.

Tessanne became the fifth winner of the NBC singing competition following in the footsteps of country crooner Danielle Bradbery and uh, um, hmmm, three other people whose names have slipped my mind.

Yeah, singing competitions just ain’t the star making machines they used to be. But Tessane, who represented team Adam Levine, has a ton of talent and I wish her the best of luck! Heck, she was able to hold her own singing alongside Celine Dion.

Now that’s somethin’!

Last night we were also treated to another big time duet, when Voice coach Chirstina Aguilera and Lady Gaga shared the stage to perform “Do What U Want.”

In other reality singing competition news, Demi Lovato wants off “The X Factor.” According to “People” magazine she’ll be leaving the show after this season to focus on her music career. Wise move, Demi. Now’s a good time to get off that sinking ship.

I never thought I’d say this but I think I’m finally suffering from reality singing competition fatigue. That’s not to say I won’t be watching “American Idol” when it returns in 2014. Gotta support my man Keith Urban!

Do you think Tessanne will break “The Voice” curse and become a star? Let us know in the comments below!
