Timberlake Wows Again on ‘Saturday Night Live’!!!

I know I can be rough on Justin Timberlake when it comes to his acting. I just think JT is such a Kanye-sized musical genius that it’s hard for me to watch him spend time doing anything else. And I admit, that makes me selfish.

But it’s hard for me to complain in a year where JT dropped not one but two albums and still found time to contribute a wonderful performance in the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis and yet another fantastic job appearance on “Saturday Night Live” (the less said about Runner Runner, the better).

It was so smart to pair Justin off with long time friend and frequent comedy collaborator Jimmy Fallon. From the cold open sketch, which reprised JT’s always funny “ville” routine those two were on fire.

My favorite sketch of the night was Celebrity Family Feud which pitted team NBC vs. team CBS. JT took on the role as, who else, Jimmy Fallon, while Fallon (playing “The Big Bang Theory’s” Jim Parson) stood across from him, barely holding it together.

Then, of course, there was the music, with JT nailing “Only When I Walk Away” and “Pair of Wings.” Throw in guest appearances from Sir Paul McCartney and the REAL Barry Gibb on The Barry Gibb Talk Show, and it’s no wonder the show earned its best ratings in two years!

After Saturday night, my new new year’s resolution will be to stop criticizing JT and let the man do what he wants!

Drake has some big shoes to fill when he takes on SNL hosting and performing duties when the show returns next month.
