I’m the first to admit I’m addicted to television like Honey Boo Boo’s addicted to sketti. And while the majority of my TV viewing consists of reality shows (case in point, the reference in the previous sentence), I do find time for some scripted fare. And it when it comes to not real programming, “Nashville” is absolutely the best of the best!

“Nashville” is essentially my dream show: an intelligent soap opera packed with country music. Sure, some of the storylines are weaker than others (basically anything involving city politics is a snooze) but whenever Connie Britton and/or Hayden Panettiere are on screen, I’m hooked.

One of the most amazing feats pulled off by “Nashville” is it managed to make me not think of Connie Britton as Tami Taylor but instead as Rayna James and  to make me like Hayden Panettiere. Her acting and singing as troubled young country superstar Juliette Barnes is top notch. I just still can’t believe she married that giant boxer!

Aside from the two stars, “Nashville” thrives with its cast of super talented supporting players. You might already be familiar with sisters Lennon and Maise Stella who play Rayna’s daughters on the show. They got their start on YouTube, hitting viral gold with their cover of Robyn’s “Call Your Girlfriend.”

Then there’s the super soapy love triangle consisting of bad boy turned good guy Avery, good guy turned sulky guy Gunnar, and squeaky clean up and comer Scarlett played by Clare Bowen. Fun fact: Sam Palladio who plays Gunnar is British and Claire is actually Australian.

Who woulda thunk?

“Nashville” has been getting decent ratings but it needs more support in order to guarantee its third season. So if you’re not watching already, I implore you to check it out. I know you’ll love it.
