The creator of the iconic rap song, Gangsta’s Paradise, is making a full transition from hip-hop mogul to chef extraordinaire. Coolio has always been a fan of cooking, from making his 2009 cookbook Cooking with Coolio to the online cooking show of the same name. According to The Guardian, the rapper is putting up 123 songs, including Gangsta’s Paradise, up for auction to fund the expansion of his cookbook series and his online cooking show.”
Hats off to Coolio! I know how it feels to have your true calling ready to burst from inside. It takes a lot to sell almost 20 years worth of content that you put your heart and soul in to fund what you really want to do for the rest of your life.
The catalog will reportedly sell somewhere between $134,000 and $225,000. Woah, that’s a lot of cheddar! Bun intended. Triple Entendre!
Coolio may be seen by many to be crazy for giving up such an illustrious catalog of music from Gangsta’s Paradise to………Gangsta’s Paradise, but hey, it’s his music. He can do what he wants with it. Maybe I can sell my old chains and fitted cap for a Iron Man Mark XLII figurine? You’ve inspired me, Coolio!
